I enjoyed watching all of these lovely Asian folks fishing on the shore last time we were in Whittier, Alaska. I was surprised to see so many people fishing in the same place… and not pulling out one dang fish. Lots of seaweed though.
For some reason, every time the ship pulls into Glacier National Park, I just want to sit on deck in silence and enjoy the glorious blue sky view. This was a particularly tranquil view.
I always find it amazing when the tides change on the shorelines. I’m used to the Great Lakes where the hight of the water is only impacted by the environment. So when the kelp shows up on the shores near the ship, I’m always fascinated by it and enjoy taking an up close personal look-see.
Sea planes are a common sight all over Alaska. Those bush pilots are amazing, they can land on a dime and I’m sure glad they can.
